Kuan Bowen, a dedicated B.E.S.T. scholar, has achieved remarkable milestones with the support of two esteemed scientists from Moffitt Cancer Center. Through his hard work and the invaluable mentorship provided by Moffitt researchers, Kuan's journey is an inspiring testament to the impact of collaborative learning and hands-on experience.
In a significant academic accomplishment, Kuan successfully co-authored a research paper with Dr. Lee Green, a renowned researcher at Moffitt Cancer Center. This collaboration not only showcased Kuan's dedication to scientific inquiry but also highlighted the incredible opportunities available through the B.E.S.T. program.
Kuan's experiences didn't stop at research. He also had the unique opportunity to shadow Dr. Odion Binitie, an accomplished orthopedic surgeon, in the operating room. This hands-on experience allowed Kuan to gain invaluable insights into the practical applications of his studies and fostered his passion for pursuing a career in healthcare.
Reflecting on his journey, Kuan expressed his gratitude, saying, “What B.E.S.T. did for me was take the instruction off the books, leap it from the page, and put it into my physical hands. I could actually touch and feel the science I had been reading about.”
